Crafted by experienced Japanese ceramicists in Hasami, Nagasaki, which has a 400 year history in porcelain and ceramic production, these tactile cups are made from prized Hasami clay. Hasami clay is composed of porcelain mined from Japan’s Amakusa islands mixed with sandstone, a combination that lends these mugs everyday durability and fine precision of form. The cups are designed with a raw clay base and feature a natural glaze that reacts with the iron elements in the sandstone to give a each mug a beautiful speckled effect.
